A booming arts & culture community
For the artsy type
Let's get creative.
Joplin has always been a creative community, and our growing arts and cultural scene is the perfect place for new and established artists and performers. From monthly art walks and locally owned galleries to our Downtown Arts District, there’s something for anyone who wants to get artsy.
The Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex is the newest addition to our arts and cultural community. It features a 450-seat indoor performance hall, an outdoor amphitheater, and a new home for Spiva Center for the Arts and Connect2Culture.
Visual arts & Music
Our art scene features a wide range of visual and performing arts. We have downtown art galleries that feature local artists as well as galleries that showcase artists from around the world.
And Joplin’s growing music scene has something for everyone, too! From Broadway favorites performed on the stage of the Cornell Complex to open-air classical performances and indie bands at our local concert house, Joplin blends old-fashioned favorites with modern tastes to create our own unique sound.
